Energy Audit Consultants
Energy audit consultants use InverseAudit to build a calibrated baseline from utility data before the site visit, screen measures, and produce a report that meets program pre-approval requirements, such as Phase I of Full Building Tune-Up.
Energy Audit for LEED O+M
An energy audit is a comprehensive assessment that examines how energy is used within a building, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost savings, and reduced carbon emissions. In the context of LEED O+M (formerly LEED EB O+M, now LEED v4.1 and v5), these audits are not merely a compliance exercise but a strategic approach to sustainable building management. They provide building owners and facility managers with detailed insights into energy consumption across various systems, including HVAC, lighting, electrical equipment, and building envelope components. The primary objectives of an energy audit for LEED O+M certification include:
- Establishing a baseline of current energy performance
- Identifying specific areas of energy waste or inefficiency
- Recommending targeted improvements that can enhance building performance
- Supporting the documentation required for LEED energy and atmosphere credits
- Developing a roadmap for ongoing energy management and continuous improvement
By conducting thorough energy audits, building managers can not only work towards LEED certification but also create more sustainable, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible facilities. These audits serve as a critical first step in transforming existing buildings into high-performance structures that minimize environmental impact while maximizing operational efficiency.
